Details how Abbott started her own career and how she saved his photos and negatives and printed them in Paris in the 20's and 30's. Dust jacket is protected with a Brodart archival cover.

Book contains information and a chronology of Adams' life as well as candids of Adams and some wonderful reproductions of his best known photos. One is of Moonrise, which seems to have been flipped left to right in this book. Ten very tiny black dots (ink?) on front cover, but they are hard to see. One inch area of delamination on lower right fof ront cover (where one opens the cover). Slight browning of book edges. Otherwise, Fine. This volume is the 37t in a series of books on serious photography by The Friends of Photography in Carmel, CA.

Back cover shows an album page containg three Yosemite images of Adams from 1917.

Showcases the color and black and white photos of Larry Burrows, Charles Eggleston, Sean Flynn, Henri Huet, Hiromichi Mine, Kent Potter, Kyiochi Sawada, and Dana Stone who at the time were either Killed or Missing in Action. Slight browning and soiling to rear area (white) and a little crinkling near the stapled spine area on the front which is black. A couple of very small scratches to black front. All in all an excellent example of this piece.

160pp (unpaginated). Cloth over boards. Photos from Vietnam and other locations in black and white and in color by the late LIFE photographer. Book looks absolutely pristine, no soil, no marks. Pages are clean, tight and unmarked. Slipcase has a color photo from the book tipped on; slipcase also shows extremely slight soil and shelfwear. This is the issue with the publisher on the spine. There is a 4.5" bright red sticker over the lower right corner of the tipped on photo which gives information about the book such as price ($17.95), distributor, and a short bio of Burrows. Sticker shows very slight wear. This book looks as new and as pristine as the day I bought it in 1972 or 1973! A classic photo book.
